The partnership between Panerai and Mike Horne that has lasted for nearly 20 years is far more than a classic ambassador. Rather, it is a close relationship that aims to increase global awareness of climate change while promoting the core values of Panerai and Mike Horn. Check out the exclusive video of Watchonista and Mike Horn’s Panerai experience!
Earlier this year, I participated in the Panerai experience event in the Swiss Alps organized by the professional Swiss explorer and adventurer Mike Horn who was born in South Africa. The red line of adventure is to push you to the limit. And this is exactly what it does. I rode mountain bikes for at least 4 hours, jumped off rock ledges, jumped off natural slides, and then down the Verbier River in Switzerland. I was pushed to the limit-it was awesome NS.
“When we decided to plan this event with Jean-Marc, we wanted to share some of my adventures with Panerai customers. In order to have a medal-like watch, this is something you must work hard for and be worth wearing. Something, because you have experienced certain experiences that no one else has experienced,” Mike Horn explained the inspiration for this event.
At the end of the emotional and physical day, we sat down with Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué and Mike Horn to talk about their cooperation, the idea of experience, the pain we just experienced, and of course, about the new Collaboration watch.
New Panerai Submersible Chrono Flyback McHone Edition
This year, Panerai continued to work with Mike Horn to create a concept watch that Mike Horn can wear even in the harshest conditions for adventure. Therefore, the new Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition (PAM01291) has been developed as an indispensable tool for daring explorers on land or sea.
“Mike is a provider of creativity. He provides a playground for our watch creation, and we provide him with a solution to accompany him in the most difficult conditions. From hiking in the endless darkness of winter to the North Pole, To climb some of the highest and most challenging mountains in the world without supplemental oxygen,” commented Jean-Marc Pangruet.
The new Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition (PAM01291) is a limited edition, equipped with the P.9100 movement, which is Panerai’s first automatic movement with chronograph function. The movement has a flyback function, which is an advanced complication that allows the chronograph to reset and restart at the eight o’clock position by pressing a button, and provides a three-day power reserve.
The 47mm brushed titanium case is lightweight and resistant to seawater corrosion, giving the timepiece a stylish and industrial appearance. The wear-resistant black matt ceramic ring in the unidirectional bezel also provides a highly clear tool for measuring immersion time. At the same time, the screw-in chronograph button provides excellent water resistance up to 300 meters.
Finally, the keen eye will notice the bright yellow of the white hour markers and the central chronograph hands applied on the dial, as well as the elegantly dotted dark blue dial. This precise color combination is reminiscent of the 2016 Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Pole 2 Pole Limited Edition (PAM00719) inspired by previous models of speakers.
