When Martin and Felix of Urwerk fake want to create something new-they have to sit down for a while and think about what they have done before and what they can do next. This is unique in the watch industry. This is really difficult. Even the satellite time telling system that Urwerk is famous for is not unique. It originated in other places long ago. Urwerk just took the satellite system that tells the time and made it. The torpedo-also known as UR-110-differs in two things. It slightly modified the satellite system, provided an interesting new vision glasses, and placed it in a novel and weird case.
UR-110 needs some habits on the wrist. It doesn’t look like any case I have worn before. I jokingly described the design as “Variant Ninja Star” (obviously only meaningful in my mind). Think of the modified Urwerk UR-103 case with wings. I think this makes sense… torpedoes fly underwater? If your wrist is large, the torpedo may sit well, although for me, the wings are extended like a watch trying to raise the height. The “imprinted edge” on the side of the organic case is beautiful, and the details are of course comparable to high-end timepieces.
The case is awkward in size, 47 mm wide, 51 mm high, and 16 mm thick, but considering the large curvature of the case, all ranges are within this range. Although it looks like it is sitting on the wrist instead of the wrist, since the bottom is mostly flat, the watch will not slide like the whole place. As I have said several times, the titanium case looks a bit bare and “unfinished”. Some people may like this look, but I am waiting for the black casing that will come out soon. I hope this model can better design the watch design. Bare titanium is not always easy to fall off. I also think that if the wing is tilted at an angle to wrap around the wrist, it will make the watch design more manageable.
Urwerk calls the movement UR 9.01, which easily becomes the commanding height of the watch. The movement is an automatic movement, and through the back of the dial you can see the cool little “turbines” that rotate when the rotor rotates. Urwerk also pointed out that the turbine helps protect the rotor from impact damage. Returning to the dial, you will have three satellites, each with four hours. When walking around, they always point to “forward” when walking. This is very cool, when they are close to the minute scale, the correct hours will rotate. It’s easy to talk about time, and the idea behind the position of the minute scale is that when your arm comes out from under the sleeve, it becomes the first part of the top replica watch.
The dial also has an auxiliary second hand dial, an “oil change” indicator and a day/night indicator. The oil change indicator is a service guide that provides you when to return the watch to Urwerk for (expensive) service. This is a tribute to such indicators on the car. Future versions of UR-110 may bring other complications. I think the dial seems a bit incomplete. Although very clean, the surface after a few hours of sandblasting under the satellite system appeared somewhat bare. As I have always said, torpedoes are beautiful everywhere, but it seems that Urwerk can spend more time to perfect the design-they may do so.
However, the details on the dial are really great. Urwerk has always impressed me with the appearance of parts – torpedo dials and mechanical devices are no exception. Operating the movement is also cool. There is a cover on the crown, you only need to gently pull it up a little to adjust the time. The crown is on the top of the watch. You can see it better from the bottom of 110. Actually-and in the case of some Urwerk watches-I might prefer the bottom cover of the watch rather than the dial! The elements of the watch are handsome.
From a positive perspective, the UR-110 torpedo is unique, well-made and easy to read. At the same time, it may require more design improvements, and it may take some time to get used to the wrist. Urwerk fans may welcome it to be added to the product range, and it is indeed different from others, and at the same time is consistent with the appearance Urwerk is pursuing.copy watches
